Tom Clancy or Thomas Leo Clancy Jr. (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an American Novelist who specializes in Realistic fiction. He was known best for his novels set on and after the Cold War. What people liked of his novel was its technically detailed description and depiction on espionage, military-science, military history, and military technology were among the few.
He did not just stopped after the cold war era, but went on to describe a more unstable era in one of his novels such as The Sum of all Fears.
